Lord Hanuman was born to Anjana and Kesari, and by the blessings of Vayu Dev (the Wind God). That is why he is also called Pavanputra (Son of the Wind).
He is considered the 11th Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva.

His mother Anjana was a celestial being who was cursed to be born on Earth. She prayed to Lord Shiva for a son. Lord Shiva granted her a divine child — Hanuman.

Childhood Adventures

As a child, Hanuman was full of mischief and immense strength. One day, mistaking the sun for a ripe fruit, he leapt into the sky to eat it. This caused darkness in the universe.

To protect the world, the gods intervened. In the end, Lord Brahma, Indra, Surya, and others gave Hanuman several divine boons, such as:

• Immense strength

• Wisdom

• Speed

• Fearlessness

• Immortality

Education and Knowledge

Hanuman became a disciple of Surya Dev (the Sun God) and learned all the scriptures and Vedas while flying in front of the moving sun.

After his education, he became a loyal minister in the court of Sugriva, the monkey king.

Meeting Lord Rama

Hanuman's life changed when he met Lord Rama and Lakshmana during their search for Sita Mata, who had been abducted by Ravana.

From that moment, Hanuman became Lord Rama’s most devoted follower. His loyalty, love, and service for Rama made him one of the greatest devotees ever.

Journey to Lanka

Hanuman’s greatest heroic act was when he:

• Leaped across the ocean to reach Lanka

• Found Sita Mata in Ashok Vatika

• Gave her Lord Rama’s ring

• Set fire to Lanka after delivering Rama’s message to Ravana

• Fought off many demons bravely

During the war in Lanka, when Lakshmana was severely wounded, Hanuman flew to the Himalayas and brought back the Sanjeevani herb, saving Lakshmana’s life.
This act earned him the eternal gratitude of Lord Rama.

Helping Vibhishana

Hanuman convinced Ravana’s brother Vibhishana to join Lord Rama. After the war, Rama made Vibhishana the King of Lanka, with Hanuman’s help.

Immortality and Everlasting Devotion

Hanuman was granted the blessing of Chiranjeevi – eternal life.
It is believed that Hanuman is still alive and listens to the prayers of true devotees. He is the protector against fear, black magic, and evil forces.
